General Electrical Products International Approval Introduction

1. CE mark
The CE marking as it has been legally called since 1993 (per directive 93/68/EEC) is a mandatory conformity mark for products placed on the market in the European Economic Area

2. CB Scheme
The IEC CB Scheme is multilateral agreement to allow international certification of electrical and electronic products so that a single certification allows worldwide market access.

The CB scheme has its origin in the CEE (the European Commission for Conformity Testing of Electrical Equipment") that was merged into the IEC in 1985. Currently there are 52 member bodies organized in the IECEE and 65 NCBs (national certification bodies) support the scheme with 276 CB test labs (CBTL). A product being certified in a CBTL (certified testing laboratory) according to the harmonized standard will receive a CB Report that may be submitted to the national certification bodies like GS, PSE, CCC, NOM, GOST/R, BSMI.

3. UL/CUL mark
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent product safety certification organization. Established in 1894, the company has its headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. UL develops standards and test procedures for products, materials, components, assemblies, tools and equipment, chiefly dealing with product safety. UL is one of several companies approved for such testing by the U.S. federal agency Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA maintains a list of approved testing laboratories, known as Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories.

4. ETL,CETL,CSA mark
CETLus is the safety certificate for North American market issued by Intertek Group, and ETLus is for U.S and CETL is for Canadian market. CSA is the safety certificate for North American market

5GS mark
The Geprüfte Sicherheit ("Tested Safety") or GS mark is a voluntary certification mark for technical equipment. It indicates that the equipment meets German and, if available, European safety requirements for such devices. The main difference between GS and CE mark is that the compliance with the European safety requirements has been tested and certified by a state-approved independent body.  A CE Mark, in contrast, is issued for the signing of a declaration that the product is in compliance with the standards. The mark is based on the German Equipment and Product Safety Act ("Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz", or "GPSG").
Testing for the mark is available from many different laboratories, such as DGUV Test, the TÜV, Nemko and IMQ.
Although the GS mark was designed with the German market in mind, it appears on a large proportion of electronic products and machinery sold elsewhere in the world.

6. PSE certificate
PSE Certification (named the Applicability Certification in Japan) is the compulsory market access requirements for the electrical products in Japan. The Safety Law of Electrical Appliance & Materials, divides the electrical products into 2 groups, "specific electrical appliance & materials” and” non-specific electrical appliance & materials”. The group of "specific electrical appliance & materials” covers 115 products. To enter the Japanese market, these products must be certified by a third party authorized by the Japanese Ministry of Economic, Trade and Industry (METI)
The group of "non-specific electrical appliance & materials” cover 338 products. To enter the Japanese market, these products need to be either self-tested or tested by a third party and have a self-declaration of compliance with The Safety Law of Electrical Appliance & Materials.  According to the DENAN Regulation, the manufacturer are obliged to keep the testing report and the proof, and the certified product(s) should be marked with the round PSE certification label.

7. FCC certificate
The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in 1934, is established by COMMUNICATION-ACT. It is an independent group of U.S. government.Directly responsible for congress. The FCC through controlling the radio, television and telecommunications, satellites and cable to coordinate domestic and international communication. The electronic product who enter the United States all need to undertake emc Certification .including 3 kinds:Certification, DoC, Verification. At this three kinds of certification, the FCC committee of each lab has the relative requirements.

8. FDA approval
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), veterinary products, and cosmetics. The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) is the branch of the FDA responsible for the premarket approval of all medical devices, as well as overseeing the manufacturing, performance and safety of these devices. The definition of a medical device is given in the FD&C Act, and it includes products from the simple tooth-brush to complex devices such as implantable brain pacemakers. CDRH also oversees the safety performance of non-medical devices that emit certain types of electromagnetic radiation. Examples of CDRH-regulated devices include cellular phones, airport baggage screening equipment, television receivers, microwave ovens, tanning booths, and laser products.

9. CEC certificate
CEC certification is the Appliance Efficiency Regulation which executed by California Energy Commission in December 30, 2005. The purpose of this regulation is to improve efficiency for electro- products, saving energy, and reduce the air discharge and greenhouse effect.

This regulation stipulated energy efficiency index requirement measure method and  grading implement plan. According to this laws and regulations request, the electrical product must carries on the examination by the intelligence laboratory according to the American corresponding laws and regulations or the standard, only when after proving meets the requirement, then could sell in the American California.  Bontek obtained the certificate signed by California Energy Commission and approved as CEC qualification examination institute officially.
